Background Information

Julian Nagelsmann is a German professional football coach who is the current manager of the Germany national football team. He previously managed Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim, and RB Leipzig. Nagelsmann was born in Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria, Germany, on 23 July 1987.

Career

Nagelsmann began his coaching career in 2008 as the manager of the youth team of FC Augsburg. In 2012, he was appointed as the assistant manager of the first team of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. In February 2016, Nagelsmann was appointed as the head coach of Hoffenheim, becoming the youngest head coach in Bundesliga history at the age of 28. Nagelsmann led Hoffenheim to qualification for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history in 2017. In June 2018, Nagelsmann was appointed as the head coach of RB Leipzig. He led Leipzig to their first major trophy, the DFB-Pokal, in 2022.

Appointment as Germany Manager

In January 2023, Nagelsmann was appointed as the manager of the Germany national football team. He replaced Hansi Flick, who had resigned following Germany's disappointing performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Nagelsmann has signed a contract with the DFB until 2026.
